He's almost done with his heart worm treatment! Less than two weeks to go. Great job Wescott! Please keep reading below for more information on his heart worm treatment.
His foster family really enjoys having him around. He is an easy going guy who really just wants to be close to his person. He likes to follow them around and to basically be where they are in the house. His foster family is going to be traveling soon so he'll need to find temporary foster home but his current foster family wants him back when they return. They've really gotten to like this fella.
Wescott has had a couple accidents in the house so it's hard to say he's fully housebroken but he's only been with his foster family a few weeks and they're still getting to understand each other's schedules. They say the signs that he's got to go outside are subtle. Still, his foster family considers his track record very good since it's only been a couple accidents over several weeks. I gave them a "belly band" (look it up on Internet) just in case and they said they haven't felt the need to use it. He's been good. Most adopters want to know potty habits so I thought I would make sure to mention.
His foster family has several acres which are not fenced. They let Wescott out for potties with their other shih tzu Mickey. Wescott follows Mickey around and stays within the "yard" area. (They are always supervised and are not close to any roads). So, from what they have seen he's not a runner. (Dogs should never been left alone in an unfenced yard though).
Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue!
